Seattle University Library was originally located in the Garrand Building (1898). The second location occupied the third floor north in the Liberal Arts Building (1947), now the Administration Building. In 1958, the library's inadequate facilities became a priority for the five-year development campaign fund. Construction on the new A.A. Lemieux Library began on the south end of campus in 1965 and was completed for occupancy in November 1966 with formal dedication on April 21, 1967. In 2003-2004...

The initial Articles of Incorporation, dated October 17, 1898 bear the signature of Jesuit priest Adrian Sweere, SJ, a founder of Seattle College. The subsequent revised Articles of Incorporation, dated June 1948 reflect the institutional name change to Seattle University under President A.A. Lemieux, SJ.
